Robbie studied a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Zoology, at the University of Queensland. He was lucky enough to conduct fieldwork on Kangaroo populations in arid Western Queensland, Dingo feeding behaviour on K’gari (Fraser Island) and on Goby Fish behaviour on Heron Island on the Great Barrier Reef.

After graduating, Robbie moved to Melbourne to work at Wild Action Zoo as a wildlife presenter and animal handler. Travelling around Victoria, Robbie educated classrooms, businesses and communities about Australian native fauna and conservation.

Robbie grew up on the island of Sark in the English Channel.

Sark is approximately 5km squared, has 500 residents, and cars are illegal. It is surrounded by pristine waters and boasts some of the most impressive marine life and sea birds in the British Isles.

It was here that Robbie’s love and intrigue for the natural world was fostered by his parents and the community. His parents have a small family farm with a host of different animals and a large garden focusing on biodiversity and permaculture.

With only a small school on the island, Robbie and his three younger brothers studied at Giggleswich School in North Yorkshire, England, from the age of 10 - 18.

Throughout the COVID pandemic in 2020 and 2021, Robbie studied a Masters of Film and Television at Deakin University with a special interest in natural history documentary production. While most of the degree transitioned to remote learning, Robbie used this opportunity to hone his skills and dive into advanced storytelling techniques and principles, graduation top of his class and in the top 10% of all graduates in 2021.

While finishing his Masters, Robbie undertook an internship at Rainmaker - Sports Entertainment Network.

Starting as a director’s assistant (DA)/production assistant, Robbie worked on a wide variety of productions before being offered a full-time position as a producer. Finishing as a senior producer, Robbie worked across live sport, studio and bespoke content production, working with companies such as McDonald’s, Athletics Australia, Hockey Australia and GIANT Bikes.

Robbie is now a freelance producer with a particular interest in Natural History Documentary.

With skills as a directors assistant, graphics operator, videographer and photographer, Robbie is open to work of all kinds.
